The main religion in Japan is Shinto/Buddhist. Buddhism is a non-theism religion while Shinto is a polytheism religion. The two religions co-exist in one another and have influenced each other during Japanese history. Buddha's followers believe that you can reach enlightenment by not giving into anger, greed, and ignorance. Shinto have the same beliefs but they also believe in many gods. The two have deeply impacted Japans culture because all throughout the land you can see temples everywhere that are still in use today.
